NORTHWESTERN OHIO TENNIS ASSOCIATION DISTRICT
2005 Grant Programs Fact Sheet

Junior Day Camp Program Grant
The objective of the Junior Day Camp Program is to provide children with an opportunity to experience the fun aspects of tennis in a one-day event. The program is geared toward entry level junior players who would be candidates for summer programs. Any USTA member organization operating a non-profit public junior program at a public access location is eligible to apply. Registration fees are determined locally, however, it is suggested that this program be provided free or at a low cost. Day Camps are single day clinics. The USTA/NWOTA district provides up to $200 grants and suggested formats for the event. A report on the event must be submitted to the USTA/NWOTA district office within three weeks following the Day Camp:

Deadline: Written applications must be filed with the USTA/NWOTA district office by July 7, 2005.
Grants:  Grant money is issued upon completion of the event with appropriate report, and
proper reconciliation (receipts and actual budget form).

10 & Under Program Grant
The USTA/Midwest Section will award 10 & Under Program Grants in the amount of $200. Priority is given to first time applicants. A minimum of 30 children should participate in the program. The event, which is to be conducted for children 10-years-old and younger, may include camps, tennis carnivals, kid fests, short court programs, etc.

Deadline: Written applications must be filed with the USTA/NWOTA district office by July 7, 2005.
Grants:  Grant money is issued upon completion of the event with appropriate report and proper
reconciliation (receipts & actual budget form).

Multicultural Participation Grant
The NWOTA’s objective is to increase minority participation in tennis among recreational players to ensure all minorities have the opportunity to experience the educational, health, and other lifetime benefits of tennis.  We will offer grants to help nonprofit organizations initiate or expand their tennis activities that will increase minority participation in the USA Pathway Programs.  Grants will range between $200 and $500.
Grant Guidelines:
• The program must be committed to the above objective of increasing minority participation in tennis.
• The program must be nonprofit.
• The amount of the grant must have a matching funds source of at least 25%.
• The grant is not to be used to reimburse regular staff or any person on full time salary with the organization submitting the request.
• The program may receive an on-site visit by a NWO Board Member, the MPC Chairperson or Executive Director for evaluation.
• Priority will be given to start-up programs and to organizations conducting USA Tennis programs.
• Grant applications must be forwarded to the NWOTA District office at the address on the grant applications by July 7, 2004.  Applications received by May 25th will be processed first.  Requests after May 25th will be processed provided funds are still available.
